Citizen Science and Maremma: Bioblitz SIR Torrente Trasubbie 2015

pieghevolo-08Some weeks ago, I had the pleasure to take part to the third Bioblitz organized by the Natural History Museum of Maremma.
The area was the Torrente Trasubbie, a SRI (Site of Regional Interest), located in Central Italy, between Grosseto and Siena. The participation was high, with many families and children, all of them very motivated.
I was invited together with my friend and colleague Emiliano Mori for the sessions of insects and micromammals. Luckily, the former are always present and I entertained the participants, since the latter seemed to lack (we caught only an unfortunate Rattus rattus, but with a bag and not with a trap…).
